Eastlawn Elementary
Campus and Community Enhancement Project
For over 55 years, thousands of area children have walked the halls of Eastlawn Elementary and many youth teams have utilized its vast outdoor area for soccer, football, and baseball practices. Children in the adjacent neighborhoods have come to the school seeking an education during the day and have come back in the evenings and on weekends to enjoy the outdoor recreational options.
Throughout the years, the school has seen a number of building additions and renovations. Most recently, the building received new doors and bathroom upgrades. However, as the building has seen changes, the outdoor recreation area has significantly lagged behind. The large outdoor space currently has only a small, aged playground area scattered around the property with limited equipment as well as a new outdoor classroom space unveiled just this year. We want to change that and we can with your help.
Today, we launched the Eastlawn Elementary Campus and Community Enhancement Project fundraising campaign in an effort to create an outdoor recreational area for the school's students and staff while providing a much needed outdoor option for the families of the surrounding neighborhoods and the area youth teams. With the student's help and drawings, we envision a new playground, walking track, youth ball areas, and other upgrades. You can see site plans and design artwork in the school. Our campaign goal is $90,000. To achieve this, we invite everyone to get involved at the ground level, to invest in the future of students and families in our local community by participating in this Eastlawn Elementary Campus and Community Enhancement Project. If we all do a little, much can be accomplished.
Here's how you can help:
· Get excited about the project and tell your friends, family, and co-workers; enlist support
· Send pocket change to school with your children to be dropped in the donation jugs
· Donate personally or encourage your business and/or civic group to donate
· Volunteer at upcoming fundraisers
· Support PTO efforts and help as needed
